Ashwin Warrior, TREASURER

Deputy Director of Housing, Center for Public Enterprise

Ashwin Warrior has dedicated his career to addressing our nation’s affordable housing crisis. He has worked on affordable housing issues at both the local and federal levels. He previously led communications for Community Roots Housing in Seattle. While there, he also helped coordinate the communications strategy for the Community Package Coalition, a grassroots effort that secured a historic investment in parks, transit, and affordable housing as part of a public benefits agreement from the expansion of the Washington State Convention Center.

His federal experience includes legislative advocacy on behalf of the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit program, helping public housing authorities rehabilitate and redevelop their properties while working in HUD’s Office of Recapitalization, and details to the White House Domestic Policy Council as well as to HUD’s Office of the Secretary. He currently works for the Center for Public Enterprise where he helps cities, states, and public housing authorities develop new ways to finance and build publicly-owned mixed-income affordable housing.

Ashwin earned a Bachelor’s degree in economics from Seattle University and a Master’s degree in public affairs from Princeton University. He lives in Washington D.C. with his wife, Caitlin.
